About Dr Irlandi

Dr. Irlandi is a marine benthic ecologist who has worked as a research scientist for more than 10 years, investigating the interactions between estuarine and marine habitats, and abundance and growth of fauna. Recently, she has also become involved in assessing the ecological impacts of man-induced alterations to coastal areas. Dr. Irlandi is a member of several professional societies and regularly serves as a reviewer for peer-reviewed journals and grant proposals. She actively mentors graduate and undergraduate students and currently oversees a National Science Foundation-sponsored program at Florida Tech to provide research experiences in support of management of coastal resources to undergraduates. She is also a member of several professional societies and regularly serves as a reviewer for peer-reviewed journals and grant proposals. She actively mentors graduate and undergraduate students and organizes a Summer Marine Science program for high school and middle school students.
